6.9 International Engine for sale

September 29th, 2010

Most people have little or no idea what an International 6.9L engines is, until I mention that was the venerable diesel engine first used in Ford F-Series Pickup trucks. Developed In March of 1978, by a combined effort of the International Harvester Corporation and Ford Motor Company, a suitable diesel engine that would eventually change the way pickup trucks and light-duty vehicles would be powered.

The new motor consumed 420cid or 6.9L [US/metric], it is naturally aspirated, [which has no turbocharger], indirect-injected (IDI), diesel motor. With eight cylinders it would become the first light duty US diesel built truck powered by a diesel engine. It started a nice competition between the big three automakers, currently still competing.

The Ford/IHC 6.9L engine featured a bore of 4.00 inches, a stroke of 4.18 inches, produced 170 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque with a 20.7:1 compression ratio. For a relatively large engine the ratings were low, but 24 years ago it started a diesel revolution that has intensified over the years, introducing turbochargers and more technology to outdo the other manufacturers.

Seriously though, it was a great idea and for construction industry people, these diesel powered one ton trucks really served a purpose. Allowing a more durable engine with better fuel economy and less maintenance.

The Engine block is made from cast iron, the 6.9L featured 4-bolt iron main bearing caps. This was done for reliability and also to increase the stiffness of the lower end of the block. The whole design of the block has to very structurally rigid allowing for the increased compression diesel engines use to com-bust the diesel fuel.

Ford certainly chose a worthy partner to develop an engine with. The 6.9 started a revolution and continued with the legendary 7.3L Power Stroke diesel engine which was also a combined effort.

A lot of our customers have no intention of replacing a truck that served them so well and cost less than half of what a new trucks costs. A Rebuilt 6.9L international engine for sale for Ford F-350 sells so fast we have several to access instantly, especially since they went out of production in the ’90′s for the 7.3L engine.

Call GotEngines.com now for more details on our inventory of engines for sale. We even can locate a used 6.9L diesel engine if you so choose. Speak with one of our team members and learn more about how we can best serve you. We ship within 24 hours so you can get back on the road.

4.7L Engine for Dodge Durango or Dakota For Sale

September 27th, 2010

The Dodge Dakota and Dodge Durango engines dubbed PowerTech were introduced in 1999, the line included 4.7L engines, 4.7L KO/Magnum engines, a 3.7 EKG and a 2.4L inline 4 cylinder model. Right now I will tell you that the 4.7L Engine for Dodge Durango or Dakota; 1999 through 2005; $2,850.00 delivered is on sale every day, no gimmicks or pressure. You might like to know it was voted one of Ward’s top 10 engines in 1999.

This is also called ”next generation magnum” engines and replaced the LA engine family in the early 2000′s and mostly used in trucks and SUV’s. And from what I understand, there’s almost no reason to own the standard 210-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6. It’s a bit rough running and a little weak on acceleration and doesn’t have any fuel-efficiency edge on the optional 302-hp, 4.7-liter V-8. The six-cylinder engine [3.7L] comes with either an outdated four-speed automatic or a heavy shifting six-speed manual transmission, while the V-8 teams up with a well-sorted five-speed automatic.

Jeep Motor Company made use of many Dodge engines over the years, since AMC [American Motors] quit making their own motors in about 2002, they have been mixing engine manufacturers for a long time.

These are the applications the 4.7L ”next generation magnum” engines are used in from 1999 through present;
Applications:
• 1999-2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee
• 2000-present Dodge Dakota
• 2000-2009 Dodge Durango
• 2002-present Dodge Ram
• 2006-2009 Jeep Commander
• 2007-2009 Chrysler Aspen.. Source for chart=answers.com

It uses a sturdy cast iron block and lightweight high flow aluminum heads with two valves per cylinder. It uses a chain-driven overhead camshaft [SOHC]. It originally produced 235 hp. The 2010 4.7L model has 2 valves and 2 spark plugs per cylinder and puts out 302 hp. Dodge has claimed that it has increased compression ratio and improved cylinder head port flow.

Pontiac 2.5L Tech IV Engines for Sale

September 26th, 2010

All 2.5L engines referred to as the ”Iron Duke” were built by Pontiac beginning in 1977 and ending in 1993. The Iron Duke, was also referred to as the 2500cc, 151CID, Pontiac 2.5L, Cross Flow, and Tech IV, [it actually reads "4 Tech"], and was a 2.5 L (151 in) Inline or straight 4 cylinder engine. If you are looking for a Pontiac 2.5L Tech lV engine for sale, we have a rebuilt engine in stock.

This 151CID [CID refers to cubic inches] was available to American Motors (AMC) in early1980, as the basic engine for the Spirit and Concord through 1982. The AMC AWD (4×4) Eagle made use of the 151CID as standard equipment from 1981 midway through 1983.

The Iron Duke is not the same engine as Chevrolet’s Stovebolt engine, [153CID] from the 1960s; Chevy II, the engines are entirely different; the Iron Duke’s intake manifold is on the passenger side, as opposed to the driver side.

The many Iron Duke Applications include:

* 1977 Pontiac Astre
* 1977-1980 Pontiac Sunbird
* 1984-1988 Pontiac Fiero
* 1982-1985 Pontiac Firebird

2000 GMC Safari 4.3L Engine for Sale

September 25th, 2010

The GMC Safari Van and the Chevrolet Astro Van are virtually the same product. What separates them are things like interior trim packages, drive-train packages and exterior trim packages. Since the Safari and it’s brother the Astro were discontinued in 2004, lots of folks like my wife and myself are diehard owners who realize the greatness of this van and would rather have to buy a 2000 GMC Safari 4.3L engine for sale than get rid of their van.

The first generation was produced from 1984 to 1995 and used these engines in the lineup; The 2.5L Tech IV 98 hp Inline 4 cylinder engine. The 4.3L 4300 165 hp V6 engine and the 4.3L 4300 200 hp V6 engine. Not many vans came through with the 2.5 liter engine as it was somewhat underpowered.

The second generation of Safari and Astro Vans was produced from 1996 to 2004. The only engine available in the second generation vans was the 4.3L V6.

Why this series of vans were discontinued is all speculation. I will never understand why such a durable and useful intermediate sized van was discontinued. For those who don’t know, General Motors used a 1/2 ton truck chassis platform to build the vehicle. This means the van is more durable and more than likely will give longer life and less problems, especially for folks who use their vans for rigorous work or live in hilly parts of the country.

Because it is essentially a truck chassis, unlike the mini and mid sized vans [we see almost exclusively on the roads], which are 95 plus percent front wheel drive, this is a rear wheel drive vehicle. Or less commonly refereed to as a, but technically correct, longitudinally mounted engine and transmission. In ordinary words, it has a rear end and drive-shaft, a very conventional setup.

Back to the 4.3L V6 engine. Our van gets 21 mpg [miles per gallon] on the highway at 75 miles per hour with the A/C on, two adults, 2 dogs and luggage. It has broken down one time in 10 years. It has over 120,000 miles on the engine and runs perfectly with no oil usage.

We take good care of our van and don’t expect any engine problems anytime soon. What do you think I will do when my van needs an engine? I love the van [it's payed for too] so selling it is not an option. If you feel like I do about your van, call GotEngines.com and speak with a team member who can help you decide what variation of replacement engine suits said needs.

GM 6.5L TE Engine for sale

September 23rd, 2010

Designed as a diesel engine from the ground up by the Detroit Diesel Division of General Motors, the original 6.2L diesel engine was introduced in the 1982 model year in GMC and Chevy C/K pickup trucks and full-size SUV lines. This engine received some design changes in the 1992 model year, the result was a new 6.5L diesel engine with several advancements in technology and was designed for the application of a turbocharger. In fact we have a rebuilt GM 6.5L TE engine for sale with or without a turbo, including every known update incorporated into the engine itself.

Despite all the problems with fuel injection systems, cracks in the block and other small complaints, the GM 6.5 L TE diesel engine is a favorite with Chevy and GMC truck owners. It’s true that fuel injector system problems have been documented. And some structural issues with the block have occurred on rare occasion. What has to be taken into consideration is the type of brutal use people put their trucks through.

Typically, business owners buy a Chevy 3500 truck and by the time the truck is outfitted with a toolbox, and a bed-full of heavy equipment for whatever type of work is being performed and before long the truck is highly overloaded. I think the manufacturers anticipate this type of treatment and put extra muscle where deemed necessary.

The most common complaints with this motor is #1. a “hard start” or “no start” situation, stalling or smoking problems. These problems are very often the result of a defective pump injector pump armature in 90% of the failures. To help eliminate this problem for good, every 6.5L injector pump is brand new or has a brand new armature installed. In addition the fuel injector blocks are flat machined and lapped in for a precision fit.

Another [to eliminate complaint #2] unusual [good] procedure during rebuilding the turbocharger assembly is to replace the center section. Being practically impossible to fully clean internally because of all of the hidden cavities and pathways, a new center section is a smart decision and eliminates problems down the road, especially right out of warranty.

In the past we have discussed the the 6.5L GM diesel engine. This post was important to write, we wanted to release the updated parts and procedures information incorporated into every rebuilt 6.5L GM engine sold by GotEngines.com. When you consider all of the improvements built right into each rebuilt motor we offer, the prices are very reasonable and we offer shipping within 24 hours upon order. Call Now.

3.4L OHV V6 engine for sale

September 22nd, 2010

Simply typing into a Google search ”3.4L OHV V6 engine for sale” is not very specific. There may be more than one company that manufactured or currently makes a 3.4L motor with overhead valves [OHV]. One company who makes a 3.4L or 3400 cc engine is GM. There are three variants of this engine for sale.

The L32, is an OHV [overhead valve] with a 60 degrees opposing cylinders, engine block. The LA1.
And a high performance version with DOHC, the LQ1. These engines are sometimes referred to as X engines, because of it’s extensive use in GM X body cars like the Nova.

I did some research and don’t see another engine with overhead valves {as opposed to SOHC and DOHC] and 3.4 liters built on an assembly line. I may be wrong, and the specialists at GotEngines.com will know those details better than myself.

The LQ1 in particular is not an overhead valve engine, but it is in the same family [60 degree family] as the above two engines. It is also called the Twin Dual Cam or [TDC] which is a DOHC [double overhead camshafts] V6 motor, [x-coded], based on the second generation of 60 degree engines. It has aluminum high flow heads. It was only used in front wheel drive cars, transversely mounted [east to west]. Being manufactured from 1991 to 1997, it used {MPFI], multi-port fuel injection and produced a whopping 200 plus horsepower. In 1994 GM switched to [SPFI] sequential port fuel injection increasing the power to 215 plus hp.

I want to make a distinction between an OHV engine and an engine with a SOHC or a DOHC. An OHV engine or [more commonly called] a conventional push rod engine is where the camshaft is buried in the middle of the block and uses push rods to activate the valves in the heads.

A DOHC engine has a camshaft on each head of a V6 engine [ 2 heads] such as this and has no pushrods. A SOHC has one central located camshaft between the cylinders on a V engine [2 heads], and or only one camshaft in the head on a straight engine without any pushrods. Remember a 4 cylinder engine has only one head, so DOHC designs are rare.

As I mentioned, there may be other 3.4L V6 engines available, if so it evades me, but the well versed salespeople at GotEngines.com would be aware of any other brands of 3.4L engines for sale. That is why they are employed here, they are the best at their specialties in the automotive replacement part business. Call now find the motor that fits your car and suits your needs now.

2003 Chevy Trailblazer Engine

September 21st, 2010

2003 Chevy trailblazer engine

2003 Chevy trailblazer engine

The Chevy Trailblazer was not a long lasting production vehicle. Produced from 2002 to December 16th, 2008 when the last one was produced in the US. Both the Trailblazer and Chevy Uplander were discontinued for the Chevrolet Transverse. A total of four engines were offered in the Trailblazer during it’s production run. With no rhyme or reason, the 2003 Chevy Trailblazer Engine is the most popular Trailblazer engine we sell.

Here is a list of the engines offered:
From 2002 to 2009 the LL8-4.2L l6 gasoline engine. The LL8 (or Vortec 4200), is a straight-6 truck engine. It was the first Atlas engine, and was designed for GM’s new SUV line. Offered in the TrailBlazer EXT.

From 2003 to 2004 the LM4 5.3L V8. The LM4 or Vortec 5300 is an aluminum block version of the LM7, and had a short production life. It should not be confused with the L33. Available in the Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

From 2005 to 2009 the LH6 or 5.3L V8. The LH6 with [AFM] Active Fuel Management replaced the LM4 5.3L V8 for 2005, and was the first of the Generation IV small block V8 truck engine to go into production. It is the aluminum block counterpart to the LY5 [Introduced in 2007, the LY5 Vortec 5300 is the replacement for the LM7 Generation III engine].

From 2006 to 2009 the LS2 6.0L V8 introduced as the Corvette’s new base engine for the 2005 model year. It came in the Chevrolet SS Trailblazer only.

Without getting involved with any more details of each engine, each engine was a success and used in many other General Motors lineups. One of my suggestions for those looking to replace an engine in a Trailblazer is our used engine lineup. We have some low mileage used engines that came out of low mileage wrecked Trailblazers.

The ultimate replacement engine is one of our rebuilt or remanufactured engines [technically the same thing] with all of the latest updates and a guarantee that proves it.

Each engine is rebuilt in an uncompromising manner providing service beyond expectations. Call now and let us assist you in one of the most important decisions you will ever make. GotEngines.com

Mercedes 2.7L Diesel Engine for Sale

September 21st, 2010

Mercedes 2.7L diesel engine for sale

Mercedes 2.7L diesel engine for sale

Mercedes Benz makes two [2] 2.7L engines. One is designated the OM612, and the other is the OM647. Both are inline 5 cylinder diesel engines and GotEngines.com has both Mercedes 2.7L diesel engines for sale. Used in the C – / CLK – / E – and ML -Class, Sprinter and Mercedes G-Wagon Army vehicles.

A five cylinder engine sounds odd, however a 5-cylinder engine has a smoother torque curve than a four or a six. Having to do with the number of degrees of rotation in each power stroke. If a 4-stroke internal combustion engine [ICE] produced torque for half a rotation out of 2 turns, even numbers of cylinders would be smoother, but the power stroke is less than 180 degrees.

A 5-cylinder engine is longer and costs more to manufacture than a comparable gasoline or diesel 4-cylinder engine, but some manufacturers like Mercedes feel these costs are outweighed by its greater smoothness.

The inline-straight-five cylinder engine is not well known in the auto industry in the US. Looking back about 20 some years, Audi (2.2 and 2.3-litre), Honda (Acura TL), Volvo (2.0-litre, 2.3 turbo and 2.4-litre), Fiat group (2.0 and 2.4-litre Super Fire series) and Mercedes diesels were the only manufacturers to adopt such a design.

Contrary to what you may believe, inline-five engines have many benefits to offer. Firstly, it has a viable use in crossing the gap between 4 and 6-cylinder engines, thus in theory offers the best cylinder capacity for operating efficiency.

Secondly, compared with 4-cylinder engines, it eliminates one internal anti-vibration balancer shaft.

Thirdly, compared with 6-cylinder engines, it is short enough in length to be fitted transversely [transverse is front wheel drive where the engine mounts side to side, or east to west] into the engine compartment of front-wheel-drive cars.

Lastly, it can be produced from a current modular design of a 4 and 6-cylinder inline engine, saving development cost but also eliminating the investment of a new production line.

A straight Five diesel engine is currently available in the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon and Hummer H3 where it makes 220 hp and 225 lb.-ft. of torque, compared to the 4.3L gasoline V6 which makes 200 hp and 260 lb.-ft.

Mercedes is well known for using diesel engines long before they became fashionable. They are known for building some of the most reliable diesel engines in the world. GotEngines.com offers the level of quality Mercedes owners demand. We offer uncompromisingly quality in every engine we sell. Call and find out how we do it.

Mazda Tribute Engine For Sale

September 19th, 2010

Mazda Tribute Engine For Sale

Mazda Tribute Engine For Sale

The Tribute was introduced by Mazda beginning in 2001. It was a combined effort by Ford Motor Company and Mazda based on the transverse mounted front-wheel drive engine setup in the Mazda 626, which is the same chassis as the very similar Ford Escape. The Tribute is priced somewhat below the Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner in Ford’s CD2 SUV lineup.

The first generation [2001-2007] of Mazda Tribute engines were:
2.3 L 153 hp which is an inline or straight four cylinder engine with two versions, the L3-VE, L3-DE and the
3.0 L 203 hp (151 kW) V6

The second generation [2008-present] Mazda Tribute engines are:
2.5L MZR which is also an Inline 4 cylinder engine and the
3.0L AJ model V6 engine is also called a Duratec 30 by Ford. It is the same basic engine used in the Jaguar S-type and plenty of ford vehicles.

MZR: MZR is a brand name that refers to Mazda’s most current inline-4 cylinder gasoline and diesel powered engines. The MZR refers to either the 1.8L to 2.5L Mazda L-engine, the 1.3L to 1.6L Mazda Z-engine or the new-generation MZR-CD 2.0L and 2.2L common-rail diesel Mazda R-engine.

All of the above mentioned engines are surprisingly peppy and durable. I suspect that is why it has found a home in several related automotive brands. Remember, Mazda and Ford have been sharing technology for years. Hence, the unusual similarities between many Mazda products and Ford products, such as the Mazda 626 engine and the Ford Probe. Two identical cars, except for the name plates and interior packages.

I know how confusing it is to most folks when you start to talk about Ford engines in Mazda cars and Ford engines in Jaguars, and so on and so forth. Believe me, it confuses many professionals. I believe many of the businesses we provide replacement motors for have a tremendous respect for the knowledge our sales people have. It really saves a lot of time and money dealing with an specialist.

You can get the same sensible service auto repair shops and fleets of all sorts trust too. No need to take any chances, give one of our reps a call and find out why we have so many loyal and happy customers. Call GotEngines.com now and get a price quote on a Mazda Tribute engine for sale, buy it, and within 24 hours it will be shipped. Guaranteed.
