Founded in 1911, Chevrolet has their 100 years old birthday soon. For General Motors it is the accomplishment of the American dream. Chevy Engines have made a reputation that will be etched in granite forever.

We will start to see some Chevrolet centennial models introduced to the public starting in 2010. Including the Centennial Vette, which may or may not be the same car, or very similar to the Corvette in the movie “Transformers”. That info is sealed in a safe secured by 10 security guards! Not much info yet, at least the same information that is not repeated over and over.

Started by an entrepreneur, Billy Durant, (December 8, 1861March 18, 1947) who was a leading pioneer of the United States automobile industry, the founder of General Motors and Chevrolet who created the system of multi-branding companies with different lines of cars.

GM flourished as many companies did in the prosperity before and after WW1, when the business got bigger and more complex in the 1920s, the company needed the organizational skills of Alfred Sloan, ((May 23, 1875 – February 17, 1966)  a long-time president and chairman of General Motors.

It was Bill Knudsen ((March 25, 1879April 27, 1948) who was a leading automobile industry executive and a Lieutenant General in the U.S. Army, who turned GM and the motor industry into the direction that launched Chevy into the modern era.

After the war, GM hit its stride and became an automotive juggernaut. “Chevrolet” and “Cadillac” became the biggest household words among GM’s popular brands.

By the late ’50′s we started to see the first Chevy engines that would become the model of the future. For over 50 years the “small block” Chevy v-8 has been the standard by which all other motor companies mimicked.

A brief history of Chevy was in order. Most people have no idea that Chevy is turning 100 years old soon. It amazes me at how many engines that Chevrolet has produced, and are still running well. It never ceases to amaze me.

I am a Chevrolet/GMC fan and owner of two GMC vehicles and a Buick Grand Roadmaster Wagon. You can bet I take good care of my car, van and truck, in fact if one of them needed a replacement engine, I would absolutely replace any of my engines before the vehicles. I think it is a big mistake to trade in or sell your car if the motor fails. There are plenty of quality engines for sale at affordable prices with top notch nationwide guarantees. You just need to know who to call. GotEngines.com @ 1-888-344-8044.
