How to Clean A Small Block Chevrolet Engine Block.

February 1st, 2010

The gentleman speaks well as he describes in a fairly understandable way to most of you, how to clean a small block (SBC) Chevrolet engine block with a Sunnen Thermal Cleaning system. This is the textbook method or system for a small engine rebuilding shop to clean the ”hard parts” or solid metal components that need cleaned for machining or reuse. The speaker John Edwards does a good job of narrating this short video. Watch and listen….

In a mass production factory the equipment is much larger equipment design to handle multiple engines at a time. As far as I’m concerned the cleanliness aspect of rebuilding an engine may be the most important. It is a waste of time putting the engine through the most precise machining processes if it is assembled dirty.

The main reason for the first process, soaking the parts, is to get the internal oil passages clean so the engine oil can flow to the right areas without incident. Getting the outside clean too is very important.

Rebuilding an engine has a variety of processes that have to be done successfully in order to provide superior engines for sale. When the recipe is followed to a tee and it comes together you the customer are provided with text book rebuilt engines. Using premium grade American parts and upgraded fuel saver camshafts and other affordable effective updates. Call GotEngines.com @ 1-877-268-0664 for more information.
