Engines for Sale

What is an engine installation kit? There is no exact definition, I suspect you would get a variety of answers depending on who you asked. Since I made the term up, I’ll mention the parts that should be changed when you install one of our many choices in replacement engines, and, the parts that deserve a really close examination. Perhaps no other facet of engine replacement will have such a big effect on the outcome and your success.

Important Kit Parts:
Radiator hoses and new thermostat with new gaskets and anti freeze-coolant.
Engine Mounts.
Fuel filter.
Engine air filter.
Heater hoses.
Water pump.
Fan clutch.
All belts.
Fuel lines.
Fuel pump(if it is mounted on the engine).
Engine oil and filter(for fresh engine).

Must Check:

Automatic transmission cooler lines.
Radiator.
Engine cooler lines(if applicable).
Power steering hoses.
A/C hoses.
Throttle cables-All cables.
Sensors.
Catalytic converter.

Without entertaining at least closely examining these components, there is a high risk of re-failure, especially if one of the parts on either of the above two lists is ignored and subsequently caused another engine failure. Which most likely would not be warranted. The most important part of changing parts that directly support engine operation is that you are not compromising your safety and the integrity of the job.

Spending the type of money required to buy a good engine for sale and have it installed can be sizable. Realistically speaking, why sabotage the success of your fresh engine by saving a few hundred dollars? This raises the question: Is it really cheaper to ignore changing the important kit parts when doing an engine swap.

This post is for someone who has never even thought of having to replace the engine in their car.
