When you own a perfectly good car, lets say about 10 years old and the engine has a failure, for any reason, what to do is the big question about replacement engines in general. Before you have a knee-jerk reaction and go buy a new car or another used car, hear me out.

What I am going to say has been repeated many times in this blog. If you have a good car with a bad engine, why not save a bunch of money and have one of our low mileage pre tested used engines installed? A new car can cost anywhere from 12000 dollars for taxi cab mini car to 50,000 bucks or more for a Lincoln Navigator. But when you think about buying a new car in detail, after a few months the novelty of the new car wears off. So I suggest you save multi thousands of dollars and buy a good used replacement engine and have a competent shop install it, or even the dealer.

By having the repair shop renew the cooling system and other related systems when your used engine is installed, you are putting yourself in a spot to save money, that’s obvious, but you have given your car anew lease on life. In fact most of our customers feel like they have bought a new car when they installed a good second hand motor and have the small things checked also while the engine is out of the car. The car runs better and even gets better fuel mileage. Now that is a great value.

To make this short, don’t just dive into another car if your engine fails. Call our experts at GotEngines.com on our toll free number 1-877-268-0664 and speak with down to earth specialist about which one of our used engines for sale are in your best interests. they have plenty of time to educate you on what your engine needs may be.

How would you define the term used engines? Did you ever stop to think that when you buy a new car with only 5 miles on it, the engine is a used engine now? Realistically speaking once the engines are fired up at the factory it is now a used engine. After the lot boy does the prep work for delivery and takes a spin in it, it is used. Did you know that car salesman often jump in a new car to blast down the street to the store for some coffee? You know what cars many car salesmen and executives drive home at night? The car you might buy ‘new’ tomorrow.

I bring this up because the bulk of engine break in is done at the factory on a machine called an engine dynomometer before the engine goes into a car. They adjust it and put it through a ten minute break in procedure. That takes care of the critical start up period and the engine is about 5o% broken in. The other 50% comes from the next people to drive it. If it is test driven 5 times and the possible new owner wants to see how much acceleration it has or how fast it will go, the engine is now being broken in incorrectly and if you buy that car you may not get the full life that one might expect out of your ‘new’ cars engine.

So a well broke in engine is hard to detect when you buy a new car. The last vehicle I bought new for myself, was a 1988 GMC 1 ton four wheel drive pickup truck with only four wheels, not a ‘dualie’. It has a GMC 5.7L engine in it. I was cruising on my Harley past the GMC dealer on a Sunday and saw it on the big semi truck being pulled off. I immediately hung a hard right into the dealership and asked a salesman if I could test drive it. It had 2 tenths of a mile on it and I fell in love with the body style when I saw it on the trailer truck.

I told the salesman I don’t want anyone driving it, please put a tag on it and let me take it for a spin. He was cool with that, and after going two blocks I turned around and came back and told him I want to buy it and take it home with out any dealer prep and why I wanted to do it that way. Somewhat confused, he agreed and I bought the truck.

This will make you ill, but it cost me $17,500.00 in 1988. The same truck now is over 50,000 dollars. The new trucks are fancier and all that jazz, but they don’t drive like mine. They don’t have the sold feel, strait ahead tracking or breaking ability of mine. That is why I still own it. People want to buy it from me every day, forget about it! It only has 92000 easy miles on it.

I hope you can understand that even a new car can have a bum engine in it. If you have a car that needs a replacement engine, prematurely and you bought it new, the above story may be why, especially if you bought it new. If for any reason you need a replacement engine for your car, tuck or boat, call Gotengines.com @ 1-877-268-0664. Our used engines for sale are low mileage and have proven to be top notch long term solutions for anyone who needs an engine transplant.

CIS is made by Bosch and has been in use since the mid 70’s on Porsche Engines ,VWs and many other European cars. It stands for Continuous Injection System, which means that fuel is continually atomized into the intake manifold just upstream of the intake valve. Fuel flow is directly controlled by airflow through a mechanical connection to an air vane which in turn moves a plunger which regulates fuel flow. Pure CIS is altitude compensating to some extent, since when less air flows, less fuel flows. You could also dispense with carb heat since there is no venturi, and the primer since the cold start valve is built in. Decreased workload is always a good thing.

Electronically controlled systems

The fuel is supplied by an electrically driven fuel pump which develops the pressure necessary for injection. The fuel is injected by solenoid-operated fuel-injection valves into the cylinder intake ports. The injection valves are controlled by an electronic control unit (ECU) and the amount of fuel injected depends upon the length of time that they stay open. By means of sensors, the ECU is provided with information about the operating conditions of the engine and about the ambient conditions around the vehicle. The basis for assessing the amount of fuel to be injected is the amount of air drawn in by the engine. The L-Jetronic is an electronically controlled fuel-injection system. In the case of the L-Jetronic, the amount of air drawn in by the engine is directly measured by an air-flow sensor.

I’m very familiar with the Bosch CIS System since I own a Porsche with one of the legends of all Porsche engines, the 2.7L S engine.

Believe it or not, a few years ago I was looking at engines for my 1970 Porsche 911S. The car had been in a restoration mode for 2 years and the old engine just would not run anymore. The piston rings lost their tension which caused no compression and the 6 Zenith Carbs were gummed up. I had a problem. Pricing out an engine from Porsche cost more than the car cost new in 1970, which was about $7000.00 dollars. I know, you probably don’t believe it, but I was there when Dr. Jaeger bought it at Manhattan Motors in Gaithersburg Maryland. I was about 17 at the time.

I only had 3 ways to go, rebuild my old engine, buy a factory rebuilt engine or buy a used engine. After pricing the Porsche engine, I immediately crossed that off my list. Doing my own rebuild was almost as expensive as buying one from the dealer. The rebuild parts are exceptionally expensive, as all OEM (original equipment manufacturers) P- Car parts are.

The hunt was on, I needed a good used foreign car engine. I spent a good 2 or 3 months searching around to find a good engine that I could afford. I mean that about 30,000 dollars was put into this restoration and I did not want to cut corners now, but I was not prepared to spend nearly $10,000 on a Porsche engine.

Another thing I was interested in was upgrading the motor from a 2.4L with the 6 carbs to a 1977 2.7L with Bosh CIS fuel injection. I always hated the carburetors. It sounds cool to say you have 6 Zenith carbs, but man, are they a a pain in my tush or what?

So after much bumbling around I located a company on the Internet who has a super buy on a 1977 2.7L RS engine with the Bosh Fuel injection. In fact, the engine had been rebuilt about a year earlier by the Porsche dealer before the car was crashed. His loss was my gain. After I got the engine it had the factory rebuild numbers on it. True to the company I bought it from, what they said was true about the engine being a factory rebuild. Apparently they checked it out first.

With that being said, the motor was shipped out from their warehouse and I got it in a few days. What was most impressive other than the time and service I was given by this company, was the price was ridiculously low, and he offered me a money back warranty if it was not what the engine was said to be.

I bought the used engine from them and it has run better than I expected, in fact it flat out has more power and speed than I have nerve to use. Now it will peg the 150 MPH speedo easily. It was my first experience with buying used engines for sale. If you are interested in who I bought the engine from, Call GotEngines.com @ 1-877-268-0664. Trust me, these guys are the best. Period.

I’m a big fan of used engines for sale. For most practical purposes there is no better value than good used engines with low mileage on it. Unless you have a specific requirement such as a commercial vehicle or you run a fleet service, a good used engine fills most peoples needs at unbelievable prices. Don’t get me wrong, rebuilt engines are a fine way to go as well, except they cost more. For people on a budget, used is the most cost effective value going.

Used Engines For Sale

My views on used engies stem from the fact that the majority of our used engines have about 40,000 miles on them, some have less and some a tad more. The point is that we spend a lot of time locating the best used engines in the USA. In the long run we have found that spending more time and money on providing a great product that builds peace of mind in our customers is actually less expensive for our consumers.

By not wasting money on sensationalistic advertising trying to provoke customers into a knee jerk reaction by buying a bad used engine, our efforts go into things such as pre testing our used engines and certifying them as a sold product you can count on anywhere you go. If they don’t meet our standards, they are rejected.

In fact our confidence level is so high we offer a really affordable and valuable labor warranty, so if you have any sort of issues with your used engines, it is covered anywhere in the USA. It builds a lot of confidence in our customers and keeps our customer service representative bored to death.

When you consider a low mileage used engine that has never had any problems or work performed on it, except for good maintenance, than you can count on it to last for a long time if you continue practicing proper maintenance. And don’t forget to use synthetic engine oil, no matter what anyone else says.

You know, when the factory manufactures an engine, the equipment is all CNC (computer numerically controlled) machine equipment. What that means is that once the settings are in order on the machinery, all functions are controlled by a computer, thus eliminating the human error. In essence, if the engine came from the factory manufactured properly, you have a solid multi-hundred thousand mile motor now. No engine rebuilder can out perform CNC equipment, and most engine manufacturers can’t afford that type of equipment.

Make sure you call GotEngines.com and discuss your needs with the most knowledgeable specialists on engines in the business, they have plenty of time to help educate you so you buy the best used engins for your needs.

The A Series Toyota engines are a family of straight-4 internal combustion engines with displacement from 1.3 L to 1.8 L produced by Toyota Motor Corporation. The series began in the late 1970s with the 1A, an SOHC engine with a displacement of 1.5 L. The 7A-FE was the last A engine in the family, a 1.8 L DOHC engine that produced 115 hp. Production of the 7A-FE stopped in 1998, thus ending that engine series.

The 4A-GE was one of the earliest inline-4 engines to have both DOHC 16 valves and electronic fuel injection (EFI). Toyota designed this engine with performance in mind; its twin camshafts are 50 degrees apart to allow decent power, but this sacrifices torque. This engine is very popular with racers and tuners because of its ease of modification, simple design, and lightness.

The engine was first introduced in the 1983 Trueno Sprinter AE86 and the Corolla Levin AE86 sports version. In 1988, the engine was placed in front wheel drive (FWD or FF) format as opposed to rear wheel drive (RWD or FR).

When you are looking at used engines for sale, you want value. If you shop at the right engine supply company a good used engine with low mileage is the best value in replacement engines today. Lets start with the fact that there are two types of used engines.

1. Low mileage used engines which are fully pre-tested and certified good. A great value.

2. The hi mileage left overs some companies try to sell as low mileage engines. A bad value.

You tell me, would you rather spend 10% more on a used engine with 40,000 miles or save the 10% and buy an old worn used engine with 150,000 miles? Please don’t answer that, I already know that if you are reading my blog than you want the great value.

The great thing about a good used engine is: at 40,000 miles it is barley broken in. And, if it never had any warranty engine work performed at the dealer, than you have a great motor and a super value. There is a lot to be said for a great running used engine that has not been worked on or messed with. Remember, most new cars are guaranteed for 100,000 miles. At least on the engine and transmission. Therefore at 40,000 miles no other repair facility should have had to do anything other than normal maintenance.

With the above thoughts in mind, it is very easy to check everything in that particular engines past using the VIN and CarFax. And that is how we outperform the competition. We do background checks on all engines for sale, and reject quite few of them. If they pass that test, then we run them through our own pre test to insure your peace of mind and build your confidence. Call GotEngines.com @1-87-268-0664 and don’t forget to ask about our exclusive and very affordable nationwide labor guarantee.

Due to the misconception most people have that used engines are not a viable option because of low quality and hi mileage. It would probably not occur to average car owners to look into buying used Ford motors or GMC engines. Online research shows that there are a small amount of engine replacement companies who sell low mileage used car engines, and you may be pleasantly surprised at the results.

Would you have guessed that a company who sells used Ford motors, GMC engines, Japanese and European used engines is in an A rated company? Or that a used engine supply company could win awards for its quality and integrity? Used car and truck engines has been able to find success by filling a niche in the auto parts business. Getting the word out there that used car engines will give you a long term solution for a less price of replacing multiple single parts.

Low mileage used engines can solve plenty of problems for the car owner on a strict budget. Anyway, why would anyone want to buy a new car, when their current vehicle is in fine shape except for the engine. A new car can cost $20 to $ 30,000 and more. About 10 times give or take, more than a quality pre tested used engine with approximately 40,000 miles on it.

Our extensive network has aloowed us access to the cream of the crop in used engines. One way we exceed evry expectation you may have is by educating our customers. With a good understanding of your need and a down to earth representative who is working in your best interests, GotEngines.com can supply you with a used engine and an affordable labor warranty that in effect is a nationwide guarantee.

Have you ever heard of a company is so confident in their used engines for sale that they would dare give you a nationwide guarantee? Call GotEngines.com @ 1-877-268-0664 and find out how much help we can offer you in making the decision to purchase one of our many engines that is in your best interests.

In 1996 GM introduced their new state-of-the-art line of Vortec Engines. These engines were designed to meet the combined needs of performance, fuel economy and limited emissions, and represent the evolution in engineering from carburated engines through the more advanced TBI and TPI fuel injected engines developed 10 years earlier.

<img src="http://www.gotengines.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/iStock_000000949910XSmall-300x197.jpg" alt="Chevy Engines For Sale" title=" width="300" height="197" class="size-medium wp-image-3943" />
Chevy Engines For Sale

Between 1996 and 1998, GM produced three basic Vortec engines: the 4.3L (V-6, 264 c.i.d.), the 5.7L (350 c.i.d.) and the 7.4L (”big block” 454 c.i.d.). Simply put, the Vortec is a Sequential Port Fuel Injection (SFI) engine, which utilizes a sophisticated computer system known as the “Vehicle Control Module”, or VCM for short, in combination with various sensors and inputs to monitor and adjust the control of the engine. Although the electronics are sophisticated and complicated for an old Gear head like me, they result in an impressive engine that is capable of performing for up to 100,000 miles without a tune-up.

The 5.7L Vortec is based on the traditional 350 c.i.d. engine originally introduced by GM, I believe in 1968. It has a 4-bolt main, cast iron block and heads, and as a short-block is not significantly different from its predecessors (differences are primarily in the design of the heads, the camshaft and the addition of block ports for the various sensors). The sequential port fuel injection system (SFI) has each injector controlled by the VCM which regulates the air to fuel mixture based on continuous readings from sensors such as the mass air flow (MAF), manifold pressure (MAP) engine coolant temperature (ECT), rpm, throttle position sensor (TPS), vehicle speed (VSS) and four exhaust sensors. The engine utilizes data from nearly 20 sensors providing information for real-time control of the engine by the VCM. In addition to controlling the air to fuel mixture, the VCM also controls and constantly adjusts an HEI ignition system, as well as camshaft retard.

The massive popularity of thiese engines has allows us to stockpile them in crates to the roof, ready for shipment. To make sure we have the engine that suits your needs the best, ask about our used Chevy engines or rebuilt Chevy engines. Our consultants will gladly spend the necessary amount of time helping you buy one the engines that fits your budget. Call GotEngines.com @ 1-877-268-0664.

The Vortec 8100 (RPO L18) is a V8 truck engine. It is one of the redesigned Chevrolet Big-Block engines and was introduced with the 2001 full-size pickup trucks. It retains the same bore centers as the old 7.4 L big-blocks, but stroke was lengthened to exact 8.1L (496CID). It is an all-iron engine (block and heads) with two valves per cylinder.

Power output ranges from 225 hp to 340 horsepower and torque from 350 lb·ft to 455 lb·ft. Vortec 8100s are built in Tonawanda, New York. The Vortec 8100 is the engine used in the largest U-haul, their 26-foot truck. GM stopped installing big block V-8’s in the Silverado H.D. trucks, when the GMT-800 series was discontinued in 2007. 8100 marine engines range from 300 to 500 hp and come with a stand-alone ECM.

Realistically speaking this is a mid sized truck motor. It is also a popular marine engine. Which is why the marine engines use a stand alone ECM, as to protect it from the sea air. Electronic components don’t like sea air.

The Chevy Big Block engine is legendary amongst drag racers and street racers. No other engine lends itself to modifications better than these motors, although with fuel so expensive, less people are building the street racers.

As mentioned earlier this is a very popular marine engine. Make sure you mention that you are interested in a marine engine when you call one of our specialists. They can tell you what motors directly interchange with no problems. Most of the direct exchange engines are the same as the truck engines. The main differences are the water pumps and the exhaust manifold, which would have to be reuse anyway.

Because these are mainly commercial engines, we have them in stock and crated. We can ship the Vortec 8100 Chevy engines immediately so you can get your truck back on the road and making some money. And don’t forget that all of our engines for sale are pre tested to insure we exceed your expectations and limit down time.

Call GotEngines.com @ 1-877-268-0664 and speak with a down to earth specialist who has the time to listen to your exact needs and outfit you with a perfect match.
