Hyundai Motors today showed its first series of direct-injection gasoline engines, saying it delivers more power with a 10 percent improvement in fuel economy.
The 2.4-liter engine, called the Theta II, will debut in the redesigned Sonata sedan, due in U.S. dealerships early next year. Hyundai said it will introduce direct-injection technology across its range of gasoline engines and mount them on other models. The technology boosts mileage by improving combustion.
The four-cylinder Hyundai engines destined for the new Sonata is based on the current model’s 2.4-liter unit but gets a few nifty features to boost performance and fuel economy with the moniker: earlier mentioned, the 2.4-liter Theta II GDI, the new motor will come with gasoline-direct injection–a feature not normally found in this segment.
Although Hyundai suggests that the setup is not normally found on today’s cars, I can tell you first hand that my vintage 1970 Porsche 911RS uses a form of direct fuel injection, while not as advanced as the system Hyundai is releasing soon, it sure gets the job done. I’ll be very interested in driving a new Hyundai to see how it performs.
Refereed to as the Hyundai G4KC engine, we are sure to see plenty of them on the roads. I have heard some people say that the Hyundai Theta G4KC engines and Nissan Silvia SR20DET engines were separated at birth. It’s unreal at how much they’re alike. Further examinations show us that they are different engines.
I talk about all of this new stuff regarding engines since one of our exclusive attributes is being able to supply foreign car engines for cars that are practically new, such as cars less than 4 years old. The larger point to make is that by ‘owning’ this exclusive ‘niche’ in the engine replacement field, GotEngines.com has the power to supply you with Japanese used engines with low mileage for cars less than 4 years old at an affordable price. We offer value with the best pricing. Call us @ 1-888-344-8044.

This is very cool news, almost as cool as the new Ford Laser spark plug technology that is coming out. Very exciting automotive industry news coming out as of late.
