Mitsubishi Engines: 6G7 engine family….

August 17th, 2009

The Mitsubishi 6G7 or Cyclone V6 engine is a series of V6 piston engines from Mitsubishi engines. Five displacement variants have been produced with both single- and double- overhead camshaft layouts. MIVEC variable valve timing has also been implemented in some versions, and the 2.5 and 3.0 L versions were also available with gasoline direct injection. Modern versions feature a one-piece cast crankshaft and cast aluminum intake manifold.

First seen in the 1986 Debonair and Mitsubishi Diamante as a 2.0 L and 3.0 L, it has been the anchor powerplant of the company except when they briefly built a V8 in 1999-2001. The staple of their high-end sedans, it was given twin-turbos for the Mitsubishi GTO, and became the most powerful car ever built by Mitsubishi at the time. Subsequent 3.5 L versions were also popular in their SUV range, especially with GDI. Now expanded to 3.8 L with the 6G75 which underpins the newest versions of the Galant, Eclipse and Australian-built Mitsubishi 380.

The five variations include the G671, G672, G673, G674, G675.

Being one of the most popular engines Mitsubishi produced, with five different models in the G67 family these are easy to find at an affordable price with low mileage. If you read the post on the G672 engine, it becomes clearer as to why so many low mileage used engines are available.

Like the other post says, buying your used engine from GotEngines.com assures you that all expectations will be exceeded. Trust me.
