American built SUVs are awe-inspiring to look at, full of plenty of horsepower, with other unique features not normally found in other cars and SUVs.  Yes, these wonderful vehicles do exist—and they have powerful Hummer motors!  Created to inspire drivers to go trail-blazing, the Hummer motor runs like a dream both in town, on the trail, and during long-distance driving.  Put together here in the United States, Hummer SUVs are impressive to see, and, drive.  Only SUVs are all part of the Hummer line—of which there a few models.

Originally built by the American Motors Corporation, starting in 1992, the Hummers you see today are not what the originals started out like.  The original Hummers—called Humvees—were actually built for the use of different branches of the military in the United States.   What made the Hummers so special—and in some opinions, undefeatable—was their ability to go over terrain that other vehicles just could not manage.  Whether that meant crossing the largest continent anywhere on Earth, or the coldest one, a Humvee has managed to accomplish it.

In 1998, General Motors bought the brand name Hummer from American Motors, but AMC continued to make the units.  Renaming the units, GM named the original civilian unit the H1.  Each Hummer is not necessarily built to give the consumer better gas mileage and power, but to be a heavy-duty off-road 4×4.  Hummers allow consumers to do those rough terrain chores—on a ranch or elsewhere—with ease.  More capacity for storage in the more modern models and the ability to go through water with ease are two of the biggest selling points.

Due to the General Motors’ bankruptcy in 2009, the Hummer brand was discontinued.  However, we at GotEngines.com are more concerned with making sure that you as a consumer are at ease knowing where to get Hummer motor when you need one.  Whether or not you pick a new, rebuilt or used engine for sale, GotEngines.com will ease the stab of pain that you might feel if you went elsewhere.
